Pictorial Account: Battle of Bentonville-2015

One hundred and fifty years ago, sixty thousand plus troops met at Bentonville for the last major battle of the Civil War. On the weekend of March 20 and 21, 2015, approximately 60,000 spectators/civilians came to watch approximately 3000 troops reenact two of the battles that took place over the three days of battle at the war’s end. The following pictures were taken by Rachel Doyle during the Saturday battle, “The Fight for the Morris Farm.” Fought according to accurate accounts of the real battle, spectators were able to understand the scope of what war was like so many years ago.
