The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is the country’s largest fraternal organization dedicated to the memory of the men who served during the Revolutionary War.
To qualify for membership, a man shall be a lineal descendant of an ancestor who rendered active service in the cause of American Independence. There are 25 chapters in NC but the only 3 chapters in southeastern NC are in Fayetteville, Lumberton, and Wilmington.
A new chapter is being started in Duplin County. In the Duplin/Sampson area, many have ancestors who served in the RW.
If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please contact John O. Thornhill in Rose Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org. The next meeting will be in September.
